01/05/08 : Avicenna Zanzibar conference the best ever!
The breathtaking setting of the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar was perfect for the delegates to network and examine changes taking place in the industry.
Fronted by Dr Fiona Adshead, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England the conference attracted many key speakers from the industry including Hemant Patel, President of the RSPG & Jeremy Main, Chief Operating Officer at Unichem.
Sessions also covered issues facing pharmacy such as Category M, Virtual Chains, IT developments & managing Pharmacy Contracts. Despite the busy schedule, delegates had time to relax and play beach games. Evening entertainment featured local artists.
The tranquil setting also offered Avicenna the opportunity to give something back to the local area; a pledge has been made to fund the building of wells in the local villages. Anyone interested in making a donation should contact Vanessa at the Avicenna offices
